Mentoring Field Trips:
The Buckner’s All-Stars participate in various mentoring activities that include fun field trips and outings.
May 12, 2007 – Body Worlds Exhibit
The All-Stars were treated to a fun and educational trip when they toured the Body Worlds exhibit at the Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, TX. This tour gave the All-Stars first hand glimpses into the human body by observing real human bodies that have been preserved in various stages and forms. They also enjoyed The Human Body, an IMAX film that explores the way the human body works and the processes it undergoes on an average day.
March 11, 2006 - Denver Museum of Nature and Science Field Trip
This trip gave the All-Stars an opportunity to do something fun and educational at the same time. The All-Stars toured the brand new "Body Worlds 2" Exhibit, which examined the inner workings of the human body and gave insight on anatomy, physiology and the influence of lifestyle choices. They also enjoyed "Wired to Win", an Imax film that takes you inside the minds of two cyclists during the Tour de France.
February 26, 2006 - Bowling with Buck
Bowling with Buck took place on Sunday, February 26th at Lucky Strike Bowling Alley in downtown Denver. The Buckner’s All-Stars and their parents had a chance to bowl, shoot pool and mingle with Greg and the staff.
February 15, 2006 - Dinner with Greg
The Buckner’s All-Stars enjoyed an evening out with Greg and staff at Rock Bottom Cafe downtown. The All-Stars spent the evening getting to know each other as they took part in an activity to construct an action figure of Greg out of duck tape, balloons, wooden sticks, and anything else they could get their hands on. Winners received an autographed basketball from Greg.
